What is the Wolverine stack?
"Wolverine" is a nickname, named after the comic-book character who heals fast, for combining two peptides: BPC-157 and TB-500. At Onus, we offer the pair as one protocol, our Wolverine Blend, so you don't have to manage two separate prescriptions.
What's in it
- BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide of 15 amino acids, based on a sequence found in a protein in human gastric juice. It has been studied, mostly in the lab and in animals, for tendon, ligament, muscle, and gut-lining repair.
- TB-500 is a synthetic peptide based on a short section of thymosin beta-4, a protein found in nearly every cell. It has been studied for its role in cell movement, blood vessel formation, and wound repair.
Why people combine them
The reasoning is that the two have been studied for different parts of tissue repair, so together they might cover more ground. It's a reasonable idea, but it's an idea. There's very little published research on BPC-157 and TB-500 used together, and almost no human research on the combination.
What the research doesn't show
- Most research on each peptide is preclinical, meaning it was done in the lab or in animals.
- Many of the small human trials on thymosin beta-4 used the full protein, not the TB-500 fragment.
- Neither peptide is FDA-approved to treat any condition.
That's why we're careful with the language. Anyone who promises the Wolverine stack will "heal" an injury is going beyond the evidence.
Who should be careful
- Athletes in tested sports: BPC-157 and TB-500 are both on the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list.
- Anyone with a current or past cancer diagnosis, since both peptides are studied for their role in growth and new blood vessels.
- Pregnant or nursing women, and anyone taking other prescription medications.

A note on the evidence
This article is general information, not medical advice. Neither BPC-157 nor TB-500 is FDA-approved to treat any condition, research is still early, and individual results vary. No outcome is guaranteed. A licensed provider looks at your history, medications, and goals before recommending any peptide.
