While many know Billboard singer Andrew McMahon from his time as the lead singer of alt-rock outfit Something Corporate,  the music produced by his other band, Jack's Mannequin, is a particularly interesting one. As a young adult, one of Andrew's close friends had a brother, Jack, who battled acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) as a child. While Jack was in remission, Andrew saw a fire in him that he wouldn't comprehend until his own diagnosis with cancer of the same type in 2005 at the age of 23. As a tribute to Jack, Andrew proceeded to call his band 'Jack's Mannequin' and released "The Dear Jack EP" with a song entitled "Dear Jack".

What Is the Dear Jack Foundation?

Andrew founded the Dear Jack Foundation in 2006 with a mission to bring relief to adolescents and young adults battling cancer just as he and Jack had both done. The foundation aims to provide funding and resources as well as hope to cancer patients and survivors through strategic partnerships and programs. Andrew's primary objective is to be a voice for those battling cancer and to let them know that they aren't alone.
