The GLP-1 Drop: Protein, Perks + What’s Next

If you're on a GLP-1, you already know the medication is only one piece of the puzzle. What you eat, how you move, hydration, sleep and what happens when you reach your goal all matter, too.

That’s why we created The GLP-1 Drop. Once a month, I’ll be popping into your inbox with practical tips, things I’m talking about with my own patients, and a few ways we can help make your GLP-1 journey work harder for you.

Let’s get into it!

On My Radar: Protein + Fiber

If there are two things I want my GLP-1 patients paying attention to, it’s protein and fiber.

When your appetite decreases, it can be easy to simply eat less without thinking as much about what you’re eating. But getting enough protein is especially important for helping preserve lean muscle while losing weight. Fiber can help support digestive health, regularity and fullness, which can be particularly helpful while taking a GLP-1.

A few simple ways to work more into your day:

Protein: Greek yogurt, eggs, cottage cheese, chicken, fish, lean meats, tofu, edamame and protein shakes.

Fiber: Berries, beans, lentils, avocado, chia seeds, veggies and whole grains.

You don’t need to overhaul every meal. Start by asking yourself: Where’s my protein? Where’s my fiber? Small choices add up.

Did You Know?

A few Onus perks worth having on your radar:

Stock up + save 10%.
Purchase a 3-month supply of your GLP-1 and receive 10% off.

Onus members save, too.
Members always receive 10% off GLP-1s, plus additional perks that can complement your wellness journey.

Electrolytes don’t have to taste like...electrolytes.
If you haven’t tried SNOW yet, it’s a sugar-free, zero calorie electrolyte drink that actually tastes good. Hydration is especially important while taking a GLP-1, so finding something you genuinely like drinking can make staying on top of it a whole lot easier.

What Happens After You Hit Your Goal?

Reaching your goal doesn’t necessarily mean your GLP-1 journey ends overnight. In fact, this is when having a plan becomes especially important.

At Onus, you can meet with one of our Nurse Practitioners at no cost to you to talk through what maintenance could look like based on your goals, progress and individual needs.

Together, we’ll create a customized maintenance plan designed to help you stay on track and protect what you’ve invested: your time, your money and, most importantly, yourself.

Already thinking about maintenance? Just ask us at your next visit or schedule a complimentary NP consultation.
